Why oral hygiene is important
A 6-monthly check-up for all patients is mandatory to detect and address cavities in their early stages, preventing further damage to the teeth and gums
Annual scaling and polishing to maintain oral hygiene and prevent gum disease. Also emphasise on brushing, flossing and use of an oral mouthwash and a water flosser.
Fluoride treatment is recommended for children to protect teeth against cavities. Advise on reduction of sticky and sugary foods and avoid the use of tobacco products.
